Maintenance Service Contracts in Kenya

A lift that stops working stops the building with it. IET Solutions maintains elevators, escalators and moving walkways of any brand across Kenya — scheduled visits, genuine parts, and an engineer on call when something goes wrong.

Protect Your Investment in Every Lifting Asset

When an elevator is down, it doesn’t only cost you repairs, but it can also cost you a piece of your reputation, a risk on your liability, and maybe some of your customers.

What a Contract Covers

Scheduled Preventive Visits — planned inspections at a set frequency: doors, ropes, brakes, controls and safety devices checked, adjusted and lubricated.
24/7 Emergency Callout — a Nairobi-based engineer responds to breakdowns and entrapments, day or night.
Any Brand, Any Age — we service equipment we did not install, including units whose original supplier is no longer in Kenya.
Genuine Parts & Repairs — wear parts replaced with the correct components, not improvised substitutes that fail again in six months.
Safety Testing & Records — safety-device tests and a written service record for each visit, for your insurer and your files.
Upgrade Path When It Makes Sense — if a lift is beyond economic repair, we say so, and can modernise it rather than replace it outright.

Manage It All in the IET App

Raise a service or emergency request, schedule a visit, and track your maintenance history from your phone. The IET app gives you real-time updates and a record of every callout and visit, so managing your lifts does not depend on reaching one person by phone.

How It Works

1

Site Assessment

An engineer inspects the equipment, whatever its brand or age, and reports honestly on its condition.
2

Contract & Schedule

We recommend a coverage level and visit frequency that match the traffic, then agree a fixed price.
3

Planned Visits

Our engineers attend on schedule, service the equipment and leave a written record of what was done.
4

Callout When Needed

If something fails between visits, you call our emergency line — or raise a request in the IET app — and an engineer is dispatched.

FAQs

Do you maintain lifts you did not install?

Yes — most of our maintenance clients came to us with equipment from another supplier. We service elevators, escalators and moving walkways of any brand, including units whose original manufacturer no longer has a presence in Kenya. The site assessment tells us what we are working with and what parts we will need to source.

How often should a lift be serviced?

It depends on how hard the lift works. A busy hospital or hotel lift usually needs monthly attention; a lightly used office or residential lift is often fine on a quarterly schedule. Age matters too — older equipment needs closer watching. We set the frequency after seeing the equipment rather than applying one interval to every building.

How much does an elevator maintenance contract cost in Kenya?

The cost depends on the number of units, their type and age, how heavily they are used, and whether you want parts included. A single lift in a small office block sits at one end of the range; a bank of lifts in a busy tower at the other. We quote after the site assessment, and we will tell you which coverage level actually fits rather than defaulting to the most expensive one.

What happens if someone is trapped in a lift?

You call our emergency line — or raise an emergency request in the IET app — and we dispatch an engineer. Entrapments take priority over every other callout. Never attempt to force the doors or release passengers yourself — the safest place for someone is inside the car until a trained engineer arrives, and a lift that has stopped is not falling.

Should I repair or replace an ageing lift?

Often neither — modernisation is the middle path. Replacing the controller, drive, doors or fixtures can bring an older lift up to current safety and efficiency standards while keeping the shaft, structure and car, which is far cheaper than a full replacement. We will tell you honestly when a lift is beyond economic repair, but that is rarer than most owners expect.
