About Our Elevator Range
IET Solutions supplies and installs six elevator types in Kenya: passenger lifts for commercial towers and hotels, home elevators, stretcher-compatible hospital cars, goods lifts up to 5,000 kg, panoramic glass cabins, and dumbwaiters. Each is engineered for a different duty, and selecting the right one determines how the lift performs for the next twenty years.
That selection is driven by the building. Peak traffic sets the number of cars and their speed; the available shaft and pit set the drive type; the users — office staff, patients on trolleys, warehouse pallets — set the cabin, doors and controls. As the regional agent for Hyundai Elevator, we specify against international manufacturing standards, and our Nairobi engineers survey, install and maintain the lift themselves.
Every elevator is certified to the EN 81 standards: EN 81-20/50 for passenger and goods lifts, EN 81-70 for hospital and accessible cars, EN 81-41 for home units. Passenger and home lifts include battery auto-rescue as standard — in a power failure the car travels to the nearest floor and opens its doors. We also maintain and modernise existing elevators of any make.

How much does an elevator cost in Kenya?
Elevator prices in Kenya depend on the type, the number of floors, the cabin finish and how much builders’ work the shaft needs, so a single figure would only mislead. We give you a firm quote after a site survey, and we are happy to talk through the main cost drivers early so you can budget realistically.
How long does installation take?
It varies by type. A home elevator is usually one to three weeks on site once the shaft is ready; larger passenger or hospital elevators take longer and are planned around the building programme. Because units are built to order, the manufacturing lead time is often the bigger factor — we confirm a schedule after the survey.
Do you maintain and modernise existing elevators?
Yes. Alongside new installations, we service elevators under maintenance contracts and modernise ageing ones — new controllers, drives, doors or cabins — so an older elevator can be brought back to a safe, efficient standard instead of being replaced outright.
