Great vertical transport doesn’t end at installation. It needs the right plan before it goes in, and the right care once it’s running. IET’s support services cover both ends: consultancy and traffic planning that help you size and design vertical transport before you build, and maintenance and service contracts that keep lifts and escalators safe and reliable across Kenya for the long run.
About Our Support Services
Support is the part of the journey that lasts longest. Before a building goes up, the right advice decides how many lifts or escalators it needs and how they should be sized, speeded and grouped. After it opens, regular servicing and a fast response keep that equipment safe and running for decades. IET’s support division covers both — consultancy and traffic planning at the start, maintenance and service contracts for the long run.
This is delivered by a team based in Nairobi, working to international standards and Kenyan regulations. Whether you are planning a new development or looking after an ageing one, the approach is the same: a straight recommendation, engineering you can check against the relevant EN standard, and advice aimed at what your building actually needs rather than the biggest invoice. We service and advise on equipment from other makers too, not only the brands we supply.
The two services work together. The traffic study that sizes your lifts also informs the maintenance plan that keeps them running — so you deal with one partner across the whole lifecycle rather than starting again with a new supplier once the building opens.
Our Support Services
Maintenance & Service Contracts
Keep lifts and escalators safe, reliable and long-lived with preventive maintenance, 24/7 emergency callouts backed by guaranteed arrival times, repairs and OEM-grade parts. Flexible monthly or annual contracts, scoped to your equipment and how heavily it is used.
Consultancy, Traffic Planning & Design
Independent advice before you build: how many lifts or escalators your building needs, how to size, speed and group them for peak traffic, and how it all fits your plans, budget and the relevant codes. Getting this right early avoids queues at peak times — and is far cheaper than adding capacity later.
Modernization & Upgrading
Extend the life of your lifts and escalators with cost-effective modernisation. Upgrade ageing controls, mechanical components and cabins to improve safety, reliability and energy efficiency—without the expense of a full replacement. Tailored solutions minimise disruption while bringing existing equipment up to modern performance standards.

What Clients Say About This Solution
FAQs
What's the difference between the two support services?
Consultancy and traffic planning happen before you buy — they work out how many lifts or escalators a building needs and how to size and group them. Maintenance and service contracts happen after — they keep that equipment safe, reliable and long-lived. Many clients use both, because the study that sizes the lifts also shapes the plan that maintains them.
Do I need traffic planning?
If you are building or refurbishing, it is worth doing. Getting the number, speed and grouping of lifts or escalators right early avoids queues at peak times, and is far cheaper than discovering you are short of capacity once the building is occupied.
Do you maintain lifts you didn't install?
In many cases, yes. We assess the equipment first and confirm what we can support, then service it under a maintenance contract — even equipment from another maker.
Can maintenance really save money?
Yes — preventive maintenance catches problems early, extends equipment life and avoids costlier emergency repairs. Our maintenance page goes into the detail of what a contract covers.
Where in Kenya do you provide support?
We deliver support across Kenya from our Nairobi base. Tell us where your building is and we will confirm response times for both installation-stage advice and ongoing maintenance.
Planning New Equipment, or Caring for What You’ve Got?
Tell us where your building is in its life, and we’ll point you to the right support.
