Passenger lifts for offices, hotels, apartment towers and mixed-use buildings across Kenya — sized to your peak traffic, built to EN 81, and maintained by a Nairobi team.
About Our Passenger Elevators
A passenger lift is the busiest equipment in most commercial buildings — IET supplies and installs them across Kenya for offices, hotels, apartment blocks and mixed-use developments, from a single car to grouped installations for peak-hour traffic.
The specification follows the building’s traffic — how many people arrive at 8am, across how many floors, and how long they’ll wait — so we run the calculation before we quote rather than leave you with a lobby queue every morning.
Every lift is certified to EN 81-20/50 with battery auto-rescue standard, and gearless machine-room-less drives cut shaft requirements and running costs.

FAQs
How many passenger lifts does my building need?
It depends on occupancy, the number of floors and how concentrated the arrival peak is. A six-storey office with 200 staff is a different problem from a twenty-storey tower with 1,200. We run a traffic calculation at survey and give you a number, along with the waiting time it produces.
How much does a passenger lift cost in Kenya?
Cost depends on the number of cars, the travel height, the capacity, the cabin finish and how much builders’ work the shaft needs, so a single figure would only mislead. We give a firm quote after the site survey, and we’re happy to talk through the main cost drivers early so you can budget.
What happens during a power cut?
The car travels to the nearest floor and opens its doors. Battery auto-rescue is standard on every passenger lift we install, so passengers are not held between floors while the supply is out.
Do I need a machine room?
Usually not. Gearless machine-room-less lifts house the drive within the shaft, which frees the plant room and reduces the structure the building has to carry. Where a machine room already exists, we can work with it.
Do you maintain lifts you didn't install?
In many cases, yes. We assess the equipment first, confirm what we can support, then service it under contract — including lifts from other makers.
